Coaching
In the 1991 movie, “What About Bob?” Bill Murray plays an obsessive-compulsive patient who breaks away from his neurotic fears and rituals through a series of ‘baby steps,’ as outlined in Dr. Leo Marvin’s book of the same name. While the story pokes fun at the idea of taking baby steps to overcome our unproductive behaviors, the most effective way to making permanent change actually is through small changes over time.
You are the expert on you! A coach’s job simply is to help you live a life that is aligned with your values, and to help you reach your full potential. It is a collaborative effort to identify, implement, and monitor a plan that involves small steps towards lasting behavior change. Baby Steps!
Family Life Coaching
The greatest gift we can give our children is a stable home life and a strong parental relationship. Sadly, children are experiencing more family transitions today than ever as parents’ marriages/relationships are dissolving in record numbers.
The research is clear… the effects of prevention are far more powerful than the effects of intervention. Small changes in your daily life can result in large changes that increase satisfaction, build awareness and increase communication in the relationships to those closest to you.
Family life coaching can help couples and families go from surviving to thriving. Focus in on strengths rather than problems.
Health & Wellness Coaching
Chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity, are at epidemic levels. Many such diseases can be prevented or effectively managed with lifestyle change. People often know what to do, but not how to get it done.
Health coaches support clients in making behavior changes to improve their health and well-being, realizing that each person’s vision of what that means is unique. For one person, better health might center on reducing stress. For another it might mean improving sleep, or exercising regularly.
Health coaching helps clients in making meaningful changes, with the ultimate goal that clients become self-managers and maintain ongoing healthy lifestyle habits.
